Bronze Barbarous Radiate

When the Gallic Empire ended in AD 274, so did Britain’s supply of small change. So, over the next decade, British moneyers made their own small bronze coins – millions of them, says Dr Sam Moorhead – known today as ‘radiates’ from their radiate sun-crowns.
Barbarous radiate. c.3rd/4th century AD. Bronze unit. 17mm. 1.09g. Radiate head right./ Star, beaded border. Fine, dark green patina, bold star. Was £40. Now only £25
